Wrap Around Shower Curtain
Install a Shower Head and Wrap Around Shower Curtain. This option will work for you whether you have an existing small bathtub or will be installing a new small shower bathtub. For new small shower bathtubs; once you have chosen your desired bathtub and installed the main part of the bathtub; you will need to install fixtures. The fixtures are the faucets and shower head. Generally people opt to install a hand held shower that has a pole to hang the shower head on. You will also need a shower curtain frame (you may have seen these used most often in small clawfoot bathtubs). The frame is usually round or oval and encompasses the small bathtub shower. In order to go around the entire bathtub you will probably need two shower curtains.

Another option; instead of the shower curtain frame; is to put shower curtain tracking on the ceiling. You are able to apply the tracking in the shape of your choosing, just make sure it goes all the way around the small bathtub shower. The shower curtain will require special hooks and hardware to attach the curtain to the tracking. The hooks you will need are usually sold at the same retailer you obtained the tracking from.
If you already have an existing bathtub you wish to convert; you can use the same method as above; with one difference. You will need to replace your current fixture with a new one that allows the hand held shower to be included.
Shower Doors
Install shower doors and a wall mount shower head. If you currently have a bathtub and you want the ability to shower; shower door kits are available to create a small bathtub shower. You will probably need a plumber to access the bathtub pipes in you wall and install a wall mounted shower head. You will also need to waterproof the walls behind your bathtub with a covering such as tile, special paint or bathroom paneling.
When putting in a new small bathtub shower the process is basically the same except you are starting with a clean palette and your plumbing can be put in prior to the installation of bathtubs for small bathrooms.
One Piece Shower Combination
Install a one piece small bathtub shower combination. This option will require you to remove your old bathtub if you have one and replace it with a new small bathtub shower enclosure. The modern small bathtub shower enclosures on the market are much more attractive today. Injection molded acrylic manufacturing allows for a multitude of designs that include built in seats, shelving and towel bars. This is a great way to save even more space in small shower bathtubs.
Dealing with a small bathroom is a challenge within itself; however combining your bathtub and shower into one unit that has space saving design features; will not only give you space, but also the convenience of a shower or bath, and add value to your home as well.
